I am still not so sure about v3 or how consistently I am going to maintain this system.
Some general observations
- In the last three years, both the obsidian app and the quartz theme has matured really well. Stephan Go’s leadership fits well within the fundamental principles that made Obsidian great. So, as a user, I have considerably less friction in maintaining this pipeline and Quartz is the right framework for me as a non-dev.
- The index page is still a matter of debate for me. My brain is very biased towards keeping things minimal, but the very definition of having a garden is anti-minimalist at some level.
- I am starting v3 precisely when I shouldn’t have started it, as I am already busy with building Whole Fragments. But I am doing a ton of focused reading; Between the outlines and references made in Tana and final work shared in the newsletter, there is a lot of abstract and non-abstract pieces of content that might be useful to other people or myself in future. So v3 felt like a necessity as directed by gut feelings.
- A tweet that reflects this chain of thought.
- Added an about me section.
- Added more content to the home page.
- Set up a proto-index page to guide new explorers.
Intermediary updates
- Completed the sunsetting of Thought Garden (the old ghost based self hosted blog).
- Finally decided to give up the rahulrajeev.net domain.
- Decided to use images and other assets in this garden
